Why Experiential Education?

At Charles Wright Academy, we believe in the power of learning by doing. Experiential education goes beyond traditional classroom methods, allowing students to engage with real-world experiences where they can travel and learn directly from the places and cultures they visit, learn directly from real professionals in the field, use resources and practices of professionals in the real-world in ways that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning. What Your gift will support:

• Opportunities for visiting teachers to be be brought to CWA and programs that take students into field experiences to learn from professionals
• Training and required certifications for Faculty to successfully chaperone and teach within experiential education, student travel, and outdoor education
• Financial support for costs associated with experiential education like transportation, supplies, and equipment   
• Deferring student costs for permits and visa related to outdoor education and travel
• Increased opportunities for student travel overall, support for students who require financial aid to participate
• Supplies and equipment that supports real-world processes and learning in the classroom and on campus
