Auction Highlights

and Signature Offerings

FUND-A-NEED: Faculty and Staff Dreams
What's the biggest reason to come together in glitz and glamour? To support our wonderful school, of course! One of the best ways to support CWA at the auction is though our annual Fund-A-Need. During this auction highlight, we'll be able to fund direct projects faculty and staff have asked for, as well as raise our paddles (which you'll receive as you check in to the auction) to help fund our collective dream of helping CWA Tarriers realize their dreams.

This year we asked our faculty and staff to submit requests to fund classroom, curriculum, and student support wishes. Whether it’s a comfortable reading nook in an Upper School Literature class, new equipment for Middle and Upper school outdoor trips, classroom pets and habitats for the Middle School science classes, a greenhouse or butterfly enclosure that support Lower School curriculum, or sensory and exploratory classroom materials for the Beginning School, we get to come together to make the wishes and dreams of our amazing CWA faculty and staff come true!

Can't make it to the auction but still want to support our faculty and staff dreams? Raise your virtual paddle and make your gift online!

If you see a wish you would like to fund, but would like to fund as part of a group, please contact the Development department and we can discuss options, or make a gift to the general Fund-a-Need pool.

COMMEMORATIVE and CWA EXCLUSIVE ITEMS
Some commemorative and exclusive items will be available as pre-order items or in the silent and almost-live auction, and some will be offered only during the live auction. Pre-order items include CWA traditions like the magnum milestone wines and the CWA crest Glassybaby (this year's colorway is evergreen, so be sure to get one before they disappear forever!). The bidding for items including the CWA Spirit basket, Head of School for a day, reserved parking, and more will be highlighted in our silent (opening April 7) or almost-live (opening April 20) auction sections. Exclusive traditions and items will only be available in person at the live auction during the event, including the "Name the Loop!" and front row seats to CWA's 2023 commencement. If you don't want to miss your chance on these special, highly sought after offerings, get your tickets to the live event (early bird tickets end April 2) before they sell out!

PARTY DASHES
A CWA signature offering, spots are sold individually at the auction to these parties hosted by families, faculty, staff and alumni as a way to bring our community together in fun and unique ways. After the auction ends any left over spots will be offered via the online auction site. Past parties include gingerbread house decorating, art workshops, athletic classes, cooking classes, sing-a-longs, and more. Oh, and if you're wondering how you can sign up early for a party dash and beat the mad rush at the auction, grab a V.I.P ticket! Early party dash registrations will only be available to those attending the V.I.P. cocktail reception.

GRADE LEVEL ART PROJECTS
Grade level and class art projects have long inspired bidding wars from families and fans during Spirit Auctions. Each class in the Beginning School have explored different mediums with Ms. Avery in the Atelier to create inspired and unique class art projects.
Each grade in the Lower School have poured their hearts into creating projects with art specialist Mr. Kroe that highlight skills they have been finessing in art class or tie in to their grade-level curriculum. Middle School students work with Mr. Hoppin to learn mosaic, culminating in a beloved glass mosaic of an animal, and the Upper School glass class works together to meticulously a glass-on-glass mosaic of an iconic local scene. The art projects can be found throughout the almost-live and live auctions, and are an auction highlight you do not want to miss.

CIVVIES & SUNDAES SCRAMBLE
Join in the scramble for a "civvies" (otherwise known as a no-uniform) day in the Lower School. This competitive tradition starts right before and culminates at the live auction. The class that raises the most funds for the school wins a no-uniform day and a sundae bar before the end of the school year. Keep an eye out in the main Lower School hallway and watch as excitement builds and funds grow grade by grade until the winner is declared during the live auction!

RAFFLES & GAMES
Raffle and/or game tickets will be available for purchase at the beginning of the live auction event, with winners pulled throughout the night. We'll announce prizes soon, but past year raffle items have included Seahawks tickets, Broadway Across America shows and stays in Seattle, trips and excursions, and concert tickets. This is your chance to play to win big while supporting CWA!

SILENT AND ALMOST-LIVE AUCTIONS
This years silent and almost-live auctions will be held online, meaning you do not have to attend the live auction event in order to bid (and win!) items in these auction sections. However, everyone who wishes to bid on silent and almost-live auctions (including if you are attending the live auction in person) must register through the mobile bidding site. The silent auction (including pre-order items) will open on April 7th, with items being regularly added. The almost-live auction will open on Thursday, April 20. Both the silent and almost-live auctions will close during the live auction event on Saturday, April 22, and items will be available for pick up at the Silver Cloud, Point Ruston after the live auction program, or available for pick up from campus during may.

THE LIVE AUCTION
The live auction only happens at the auction, live and in person! One you check in at the auction, you'll be given your bid card. Don't lose it!--you'll need it later on in the evening to bid on exclusive items like trips, excursions, class art projects, and more!

DESSERT DASH
This year's dessert dash is sponsored by the Family Association Steering Committee and features cakes from local bakery Celebrity Cake Studio as well as cakes from celebrity chefs like Buddy Valastro from TV's Cake Boss. You and your table mates will write down your bids at the beginning of the night, and after dinner the table with the highest cumulative bid will be invited to have first pick from our stellar dessert table. After highest bidding table saunters back to their table with the most sought after dessert, a group of the next top bidders will have to get ready to dash for their dessert! Our auctioneer will call groups in order of high to low table bids until all tables have gotten their desserts. So if you don't want to get stuck with slim pickin's (though we promise all desserts will be delish), bid big from the start!
