Belize for Chocolate Lovers
A trip for two to Belize, a Central America’s hidden gem. Sparsely populated and ethnically diverse, the country is rich in natural wonders from the barrier reef and coastal cayes to the Maya Mountains and inland rain-forest. Winners will enjoy 6 days/ 5nights accommodations inclusive of all meals (international and local cuisine, expertly prepared). In addition to enjoying the Lodge at Big Falls, two chocolate making experiences form the central theme of the program activities. Visit a local Mayan farmer and his wife who have created Ixcacao, an artisanal chocolate manufacturer. Then you’re off to see a boutique chocolate maker managing the entire process from farm to bean to bar. You will also visit a spice farm growing vanilla, cardamom and black pepper and a host of other spices. You may also choose to visit the Mayan sites of Lim Ni Punit and Lubaantun, and go on a guided tour with picnic lunch at Rio Blanco National Park.
